Joe ventures to Montana to hunt with Jim Kinsey and Robert Hanneman from the Magnum Hunt Club for American Prong-Horned Antelope. After two days of relentless spotting and strategic stalking in the “Bad Lands” of Montana, Joe closed in on his trophy. His 73” buck was the highlight of the week along with three other bucks and two does taken by the other hunters, all of which were caught on video. Be sure to join Joe, Jim and Robert for two days of Antelope Hunting from the Big Sky State. And, wait until you see what Joe cooks up with these prairie roaming beauties on Cooking on the Wildside!
Nestled in the beautiful Laurel Mountains of Western Pennsylvania, sits a Spa and Resort with impeccable beauty and taste. Nemacolin Woodlands Spa and Resort has long been on Joe’s list for its appeal not only to luxury accommodations and a 5 diamond restaurant, but its lure to the avid Sportsman. Join Joe, guide Jonathon Yencha and special guest, radio personality Val Porter from the DVD Morning Show as they fish Beaver Creek for Rainbows, Browns, Brooks and Tiger Trout.
“Let’s play some golf, no, let’s do a little fishing, nah, how about some pheasant hunting. No, I just want to stay in the lodge and have some fantastic food and drink. I got it, let’s do it all on the same weekend and never get in the car!” That’s right; Sutton Bay Lodge offers all of the above, plus a lot more. And don’t miss the cooking segments this week as Joe works in the Sutton Bay Lodge’s kitchen.
Courageous Lake Caribou Camps boast some of finest Caribou hunting in North America and possibly even the world. September brings the famed Caribou migration directly through this area, so the action will be simply amazing. Join me as I venture to the Northwest Territories and am hosted by the fine folks at Courageous Lake Caribou Camps for 5 spectacular days at Lac De Gras.
The Florida everglades are known for their unmatched beauty and bountiful wild-life. Hundreds of species of birds, alligators, wild bore only to mention a few co-habitat in this wonderful place. Joe and Captain Frank Carbone have something else in mind, Large Mouth and Peacock Bass. That’s right Peacock Bass in Florida! Unlike their larger brothers that reside in the Amazon, these fish are right here in the U.S. near Miami. Being that Peacock and Largemouth Bass are game fish only, Joe will prepare a Bison Ribeye for this weeks Cooking on the Wildside.
Along with Captain Mark Johnson with Florida Keys Fun Fishing Guide Service, Joe will be in the Florida Keys to experience first hand some fishing that is not the "norm" when it comes to Islamorada. Speckled Trout, Ladyfish and a 10 Ft. 300 lb. class Hammerhead Shark were way more than Joe expected. Make sure to stay tuned for Cooking on the Wildside for some fresh AHI TUNA!
This week Joe's show offers a different twist. Instead of featuring a hunting or fishing lodge and guide service, he is going to go fishing with "Uncle Fred" These two have covered the water and field for nearly 40 years and will have some fun and share some friendly family competition for Large Mouth Bass on Lake Erie.
Down in the Lower Laguna Madre in South Texas sits the largest Barrier Reef in North America. Joe went in search of Tailing Redfish, Speckled Trout and Ladyfish and had plenty of action. Captains Scott and Kathy Sparrow of the Kingfisher Guide Service hosted this wonderful adventure as Joe pursued his catch. Come and watch as Joe tests his skills and patience while after these elusive trophies.
Gobblers Knob is one of the newest shooting clubs in Southwestern Pennsylvania offering both live birds as well as clay shooting. Pheasant hunting is one of Joe's favorites for wing shooting and this was right up his alley. Join Joe and some old hunting buddies along with guide Curt Fry and his champion dogs for a morning of snow filled action. And, be sure to stay tuned for some "Cooking on the Wildside" when Joe prepares Pheasant Kiev!
One of Joe's favorite hunting weekends is his annual trip to the Eastern Shore of Maryland to hunt for ducks and geese on the Chesapeake Bay. Watch as Joe returns to hunt with Fly-By Island Outfitters and guide Richie Dulan on a combination duck and goose hunt. The action is fast and furious! And don't forget to stay tuned to check out Joe's Culinary delight for this week.
Joe really enjoys when he gets to work close to home. Such is the case this week when Joe travels to the Yellow Creek Trout Club in Brush Valley, PA about an hour from Pittsburgh. Steve Renosky and Mike Keryeski are there to guide and show Joe the ins and outs of Yellow Creek. Watch as the guys have there hands full with these beautiful Rainbows, Browns, Brookies and Tiger Trout. These guys are catch and release only. To stay with the trout theme, the South Fayette Shop & Save provided Joe with some fresh farm raised trout for this weeks edition of Cooking on the Wildside.
Joe open's his season up with a bang! Join him as he travels to Maryland and Delaware to hunt "The Snows of the Eastern Shore" with the Tuscarora Outfitters Guide Service. As you will see there is no lack of birds for this show! And make sure you stay tuned to make some Snow Goose Gumbo on Cooking on the WIldside.
